MPCL-007: Practicum in Experimental Psychology and Psychological Testing

Course Overview

MPCL-007 is the hands-on practical component of the IGNOU MAPC programme, carrying 8 credits. It bridges theoretical knowledge from the six theory courses with direct application — requiring learners to conduct standardised psychological experiments and administer psychometric tests under supervised conditions.

The practicum develops core professional competencies in:

  • Administering and scoring psychological tests with standardised procedures
  • Conducting controlled laboratory experiments
  • Writing formal practicum reports in APA-compliant format
  • Interpreting results in light of norms, theories, and introspective data
  • Conducting viva voce (oral examination)
